Andy Warhol once said: “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.”   You find the “15” inside the lens as a a reference.

He used to take his camera with him everywhere, taking pictures all the time! It seems like he desperately tried to hold on to those moments and forever save them. He made us Vouyeurs of the high society.

Besides for his incredible art, he also was known for his omnipresence, his silver wigs and pale skin. He’s seemed to be a shiny person, knowing all the big celebrities and stars, but his diaries reveled that he was full of self-doubt, constantly seeking for approval. He also struggled with growing up in a very religious family but being gay at the same time. He had to go through heartbreak, while trying to understand what love means. Seeing and hearing original footage of the Netflix series “Andy Warhol Diaries” made me realize how sensitive, lonely and sad Andy Warhol was behind his masquerade. He said beautiful things about, love, art and people. Go watch his documentary.

In the “Icons” series, I portrayed inspiring people with their iconic statements in a very graphic style.

The series is intended to inspire, encourage, comfort and simply pay homage to these heroes and heroines.
